The painting, titled ‘Circle of Life,’ symbolizes reincarnation and the idea that our actions have consequences. It’s inspired by my time in Nosara, Costa Rica. I used to take a scenic hour-long walk from my house to the beautiful beaches, enjoying the nature trails filled with howler monkeys, butterflies, and friendly dogs.

During these walks, I’d also pick up trash along the streets, beaches, and trails. The circle depicted in my painting is part of a discarded bicycle tire I found on one of these trails. I wanted to incorporate this found object into my artwork, turning something discarded into a beautiful decoration for the home.

“Within the canvas lies the ‘Circle of Life,’
A tale of rebirth and our deeds’ cosmic drive.
In the heart of Nosara’s serene embrace,
A pilgrimage through nature’s captivating grace.
From mountaintop trails to beaches’ expanse,
A harmonious journey, a dance with chance.
With howling monkeys and butterflies’ flight,
Accompanied by loyal dogs in morning’s light.
Walking the shores from North to South,
Witnessing surfers’ prowess, waves’ mouth.
Treading paths, embracing each mile,
Admiring the Til pools with a joyful smile.
Amidst this beauty, a bittersweet sight,
Collecting debris to set the world right.
One morning’s find, a symbol of tread,
A bicycle’s tire, once discarded, now led.
In this painting, the tire found its place,
Transformed from waste to artistic grace.
A symbol profound, a shift of the view,
From littered trails to a beauty anew.
‘Tis the Circle of Life, its tale unfurled,
A journey of change, a magical swirl.
From trail to art, a message profound,
In transformation, true beauty is found.”
